My Leads: track contacts and outreach status

My Leads is your saved contact list in Whali. Track research and outreach status, read profiles and company research, add notes, and generate emails in bulk.

Last updated 26 July 2026

My Leads is your saved contact list. Every person you research from Lead Generation lands here with a status, so you can see who has been researched, who has a draft waiting, who has been emailed, and who has replied. Click any row to open the full profile and company research.

How do I find a lead in the list?

Use the search box (Search by name or company) for a specific person, or the status filters above the table: All, Researched, Email Drafted, Sent and Replied. The table itself shows Contact, Company, Status and Actions, and scrolls to load more rows until you reach the end of the list.

What do the lead statuses mean?

StatusMeaning
NewSaved but not researched yet
QueuedWaiting for research to start
ResearchingResearch is running now
ResearchedProfile and company research are ready
Research failedNothing usable could be found, retry from the row
Email DraftedA draft exists for this lead
SentAn email has gone out
RepliedThey replied
Out of OfficeAn auto-reply came back
BouncedThe email did not reach them

What is on a lead's page?

Opening a row gives you everything the email will draw on. On the left sits Profile Insights: Career Progression, Education, Languages, Certifications, Interests and Recent Posts. Beside it is Company Research, broken into Industry Context, Culture and Values, Outreach Hooks, Key People and Recent News.

If research is still running the page tells you so and fills in as it completes. Under More actions you can Re-enrich profile or Refresh company research to pull fresh data instead of using what is cached.

How do I generate emails for several leads at once?

Tick the checkbox on each row you want, or use the select-all control in the table header. A toolbar appears showing how many leads are selected, what it costs, and a Generate emails button.

  1. Select up to 50 leads (leads without an email address and leads you have already contacted are flagged and skipped).
  2. Check the toolbar line, which reads "Uses N credits" at 3 credits per lead.
  3. Press the Generate button. Drafts appear in Drafts, ready to read, edit and send.

If your balance covers only part of the selection, the toolbar says how many it can cover. Credits reset every Monday. For a single lead, open its page and press Generate Email instead.

Can I add my own notes about a lead?

Yes. Each lead page has a Personal Notes box, and anything you write there is used to personalise the generated email. It is the right place for context our research cannot know: where you met, what you discussed, a mutual contact, or a specific role you are chasing. Press Save Notes, then generate.

What does deleting a lead do?

Delete removes the lead from My Leads. Emails you already sent stay in the Inbox and are shown as Lead deleted, and pending follow-ups for that conversation stop. Research already spent on that lead is not refunded, so delete duplicates rather than contacts you might still write to.

Next: Sending and scheduling covers drafting and sending, and the Inbox covers tracking what comes back.

FAQ

Why is a lead stuck on Researching?
Research runs in the background and normally finishes within about a minute per lead, with larger batches taking longer. The page updates itself, so leave it open. If it ends as Research failed you can retry that row.
How many leads can I generate emails for at once?
Up to 50 in one bulk selection, at 3 credits each. Leads with no email address and leads you have already contacted are excluded automatically, and the toolbar tells you how many were skipped and why.
Does re-enriching a lead cost credits again?
Yes, refreshing profile or company research runs the research again and is charged like any other research. Only do it when a lead has changed jobs or the cached research looks stale.
