A ten minute Whali quick start: fill in About you, set your email style, connect your inbox, find a lead, send your first email and let follow-ups run.

Whali needs six things before it can write and send cold emails for you: your background, your email style, a connected inbox, a lead, a draft and a send. Each step takes a minute or two, each one appears on the Dashboard Get started checklist, and each pays bonus credits the first time you finish it.
How do I fill in About you?
Start on About you and upload your CV as a PDF, or import your LinkedIn profile. Whali extracts your education, experience and skills into the profile every email is written from, and parsing costs no credits. Check the imported details, correct anything wrong, and watch the profile strength meter climb. Full guide: About you.
How do I set my email style?
Open Email style and answer two questions: what you are asking for, and how you want to sound. Write your own ask if you can, or pick a preset such as Coffee Chat or Summer Internship. Then choose a style, a length and a language. Full guide: Email style.
How do I connect my email account?
Whali sends from your own mailbox, so connect Gmail or Outlook next. Sign in through the provider and accept every permission, especially permission to send email on your behalf, or sending will fail later. University accounts often block outside apps, so a personal address is the reliable fallback. Full guide: Connect your email.
How do I find my first lead?
Go to Lead Generation and search our lead database for the companies you want to reach, then open one and pick the people worth contacting. Searches cost 2 credits per page of results, revealing a contact email costs 3, and full enrichment costs 5 per lead. Saved contacts land in My Leads. Full guide: Lead Generation.
How do I generate and send my first email?
From a saved lead, generate a draft with AI. That costs 3 credits and produces a personalised email built from your profile and their details. Read it, edit anything that does not sound like you, then send it straight away or schedule it for a better moment. Sending is free. Full guide: Sending and scheduling.
How do follow-ups run on their own?
When you send an email, Whali schedules your follow-ups automatically against your own time zone. You can change the cadence and send time in follow-up settings, edit any queued draft, or cancel individual follow-ups. Marking a thread as replied stops the rest of the sequence. What do I earn for finishing setup?
The Get started card on the Dashboard tracks all six steps and pays bonus credits the first time you complete each one, 70 in total, shown in the header as something like "40 of 70 credits earned".

FAQ
- What actually costs credits?
- AI generation costs 3 credits per email, including AI replies. Searches cost 2 credits per page, revealing an email 3, and enrichment 5 per lead. Sending and follow-ups are free.
- Can I do the steps in a different order?
- Mostly yes, though the sequence has natural dependencies: you cannot draft without a lead, and you cannot send without a connected inbox. Filling in About you first makes the first draft noticeably better.
- What if I only have LinkedIn and no CV?
- Import LinkedIn instead. It feeds the same profile as a CV and ticks the same checklist step, so you can upload a CV later to strengthen the profile further.
