Email style controls how every generated email reads: what you are asking for, how you sound, how long it runs, which language it uses, the rules it must never break, and how it signs off. Set it once and every draft follows it, replies and follow-ups included. Every change on the page saves automatically.
How do I set what I'm asking for?
What you're asking for shapes the ask in every email. Writing your own gets the best replies: give it a short label and a description of exactly what you want, up to 1000 characters, and keep up to three. If you would rather not write one, pick a preset: Coffee Chat, Summer Internship, Off-Cycle Internship or Graduate Job.
How do I choose the tone?
How you sound offers three email styles. Question-Led opens with a genuine question to spark dialogue. Direct is concise and straight to the point. Conversational is warm and natural, like writing to a connection. The style you pick applies to everything Whali writes for you, so choose the one you would actually send.
How long should my emails be?
Email length gives the AI a word range to write to. Brief suits cold first touches and senior recipients with no time. Moderate is the middle ground when you have one specific hook to explain. Detailed gives the AI room for a fuller case, which works best when you genuinely have a lot in common.

Which language will my emails be in?
Email language sets the language every generated email is written in, and it applies to all of them, including follow-ups. The options are English (US), English (UK) and French. It governs the emails Whali writes, not the Whali interface, so you can work in one language and write to people in another.
Can Whali copy emails I already like?
Reference emails takes up to three cold emails you like, pasted in full, and matches their tone and structure. Use emails that actually got replies rather than templates you found online, since the AI will imitate whatever you give it.
How do I set rules and subject lines?
Your rules is a free text box that overrides everything else, for example "Never mention my A-level results" or "Always mention I can start immediately". Subject lines lets you describe how they should be written, such as three words maximum or always mention their company. Leave it empty for the default: short, specific, phrased like an email from a colleague.
What goes at the end of my emails?
What you share controls the ending: a sign-off of up to 500 characters and up to five links displayed above it. Paste a URL and Whali suggests the link text, so a cal.com URL becomes Book a call and a LinkedIn URL becomes LinkedIn. A live preview shows exactly how the ending will look.

FAQ
- Will changing my style rewrite drafts I already have?
- No. These settings apply to emails generated after the change. To apply them to an existing draft, regenerate it, which costs 3 credits like any AI generation.
- Do follow-ups use these settings too?
- Yes. Follow-ups are drafted in the same voice and language as your first email. Follow-ups and sending are both free, so the whole sequence costs nothing beyond the original generation.
- How many custom asks can I keep?
- Three. You can edit or delete them at any time, and the four presets stay available underneath, so switching between a tailored ask and a preset takes one click.
