About you is where Whali learns who you are. Upload a CV or import your LinkedIn profile, and we pull your education, experience and skills into a single profile called Who you are. Every email you generate is written from that profile, so the fuller it is, the more specific and credible your emails read.
How do I add my CV?
Open Who you are and choose Upload CV. Whali takes a PDF, then shows "Extracting your details..." while it reads your experience, education and skills. That takes a few seconds and costs no credits. Your profile holds one CV at a time, so use Replace to swap it and View CV to check the original file.
How do I import from LinkedIn?
Choose Connect your LinkedIn in the same panel and paste your profile URL, for example linkedin.com/in/your-name. The import takes about a minute, your profile needs to be public, and you can keep using Whali while it runs. CV and LinkedIn merge into one profile, and Disconnect removes the source while keeping the details already imported.
What does the profile strength meter measure?
The percentage in the Who you are header scores ten things that make emails specific: contact details filled in, a short summary about you, at least one experience, an achievement with a number in it, education added, five or more skills, and a project, leadership or volunteering entry. The last three are an ask selected, an email style chosen, and CV and LinkedIn both connected.
Ask and email style are set on the Email style page. The Improve button opens a short set of questions that fills the biggest gaps for you.
Can I control what goes into my emails?
Imported details lists everything Whali holds, section by section, with a toggle on each section and each item. Switch off anything you would rather never appear, and edit any field directly. Changes save on their own. Only the details relevant to each email are used, never everything at once.
How do attachments work?
Attachments is the list of files you can attach when sending. You get four slots for PDF, PPTX or DOCX files up to 3MB each, and the CV from Who you are sits alongside them without taking a slot. Give every file a label, because the label is what appears in your email attachment line.
What is What you're promoting?
This optional block is for outreach that sells or pitches: a product, a service, your company, or a role you are hiring for. Anything you add switches your emails into professional mode, where the AI leads with your offer rather than your background. You can upload a pitch deck and Whali summarises it. If you are a student writing about roles and chats, skip this block.
FAQ
- Does uploading a CV cost credits?
- No. CV parsing is free, as is editing your profile. Credits are spent on AI email generation (3 credits), lead searches and enrichment, not on building your profile.
- What happens to my profile if I remove my CV or disconnect LinkedIn?
- Your profile keeps every detail already merged from that source, because the profile outlives the file it came from. You can upload a new CV or reconnect LinkedIn at any time to refresh it.
- How complete does my profile need to be?
- The Dashboard checklist ticks Fill out About you as soon as one CV or LinkedIn import lands, worth 10 bonus credits. Beyond that, a higher strength score simply gives the AI more genuine material to write from.
